The VA To Open 10 Rural Outreach Clinics
WASHINGTON (Sept. 12, 2008) — The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will open 10 new Rural Outreach Clinics by 2009 to increase the convenience of care for thousands of veterans living in rural areas.
“VA’s commitment is to provide the best quality care to veterans, regardless of their address,” said Secretary of Veterans Affairs Dr.
James B. Peake. “These clinics are a major step toward fulfilling that pledge to increase access to care for veterans living in rural areas.”
How We Choose A President
In the end, there are the issues and the solutions. Once again, the election has turned into character and popularity. We judge our presidents by their performance, but we elect them on their iconic representation of who we want to be. They are our epic heroes.
In the 1940s we had Superman. In the 1960s we had Martin Luther King Jr. and Barry Goldwater. In the 1980s we had Ronald Reagan (for many), and today we don’t know who represents us.
Are we looking for that grizzled veteran warrior who sacrificed his body in Vietnam for the honor of his country? Certainly every speech at the RNC focused on that and not the issues. Each speaker spent over half of their speech to tell and retell “the story of John McCain.”
Or are we looking for “the Man of Hope?” Certainly we have seen the effect Obama has on people. We have made the jokes of his Messiah caricature. He is our JFK of the 21st century, returned to reinstate Camelot and loose Excalibur from the stone.

BARACK OBAMA HISTORICAL TIMELINE

I am not saying his experience is comprehensive, but it is more impressive than what was mentioned at the RNC convention.
Who is Sarah Palin?
There is a lot of buzz about Sarah and for good reason: no one knows her. We all know she is a “green” governor from Alaska and soccer mom extraordinaire, but we are being asked to evaluate her on a speech and a prayer.
One reporter wrote, “I had low expectations, but after hearing her speech I have more confidence.”
What she is saying is that a single speech as convinced her that Sarah Palin is qualified to lead the free world. And let there be no mistake, we are not just electing a U.S. president, but the leader of the only superpower on the planet. Sarah will be the next in line behind a 72 year old cancer survivor.
